Britanski Anthony Joshua branit će naslove profesionalnog svjetskog prvaka u teškoj kategoriji po WBA, IBF, WBO i IBO verziji protiv Ukrajinca Oleksandra Usika, a taj će se meč, dogovoren za 25. septembra, održati na stadionu Tottenhama u Londonu, objavljeno je u utorak.

Usyk je u profesionalnoj karijeri ostvario 18 pobjeda u isto toliko nastupa, a njih 13 je bilo nokautom. No samo je posljednje dvije pobjede, protiv Amerikanca Chazza Witherspoona (2019.) i Britanca Dereka Chisore (2020.), ostvario u teškoj kategoriji, a posljednjom je stekao status prvog izazivača Anthonyja Joshue.

Britanac se ove godine trebao boriti protiv sunarodnjaka Tysona Furyja za objedinjenje svih pet teškaških naslova u Saudijskoj Arabiji, ali je ta borba propala kad je američki sud odredio Furyju da mora ispoštovati ugovornu obvezu i treći se put boriti protiv Amerikanca Deontaya Wildera za naslov WBC prvaka.
