Novak Djokovic won the Masters in Paris. In the final, he defeated Grigor Dimitrov in two played sets. The match lasted less than two hours, and the score in sets was 6:4, 6:3 in favor of Djokovic.
After a fairly even start to the match, the first set was decided in the seventh game when Novak broke Dimitrov’s serve, taking a lead of 4:3 at that moment. He maintained this advantage in his next two service games and won the first set without much trouble.
The second set was quite similar, and it was decided in the fifth game when Novak, using a tried-and-true recipe, broke his opponent’s serve again. Dimitrov couldn’t make a comeback, and in the end, he had to concede defeat.
This was Djokovic’s 40th trophy in the series of 1,000 tournaments, or Masters titles. With this incredible achievement, he further distanced himself from the 36 Masters titles held by Spanish player Rafael Nadal and the 28 Masters titles accumulated by Swiss player Roger Federer.
